Vata and kapha are two of the tridoshas that govern the body. While vata plays the role of wheels, kapha stands for compactness and groundedness. Mobility and stability are two sides of a coin, and the halfway balance is what we should desire.
Vata is the controller of almost all important functions of the body. It is the only bioenergy that can move and roam around. From breathing to excretion and from sound production to complex neuronal activities, vata is the authority. When normal, it fills the person with drive, enthusiasm, and passion for things. It enhances metabolism by facilitating substance transport. On the other hand, kapha is immobile. Consider it as an invisible glue- something that connects the bodily tissues and keeps the bond intact. The functions of kapha don’t end with adherence, it also nurtures- the tissues, structures, and ultimately, the body.
These are two doshas with gravely different properties, yet, when messed up, they can menace the whole body. They can increase or decrease according to internal and external factors, and the harmony between these doshas along with pitta bestows one with health. When vata is aggravated, it can lead to mood swings, nervine dysfunction, digestive distress, and other metabolic problems. If it is kapha that gets vitiated, there will be respiratory issues, heaviness of the body, glumness, and lack of energy. Is there any way to balance them and get rid of the respective consequences of vata/kapha vitiation? Yes! Ayurveda answers it through Gorochanadi gulika.
Sitaram’s Gorochanadi gulika
With the wholesome blend of chiravilwa (Holoptelia integrifolia), camphor (Cinnamomum camphora), dronapushpi (Leucas aspera), and pravala bhasma, Gorochanadi gulika stands out as an effective vata-kapha pacifier. It mitigates the heaviness imparted by kapha while correcting the quantity and course of vata. It becomes an excellent choice of drug for nerve-related disorders such as cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis as the ingredients act as a nerve tonic. They pacify vata and ensure the proper functioning of both central and peripheral nervous systems. It helps relieve even chronic respiratory distress by reducing kapha vitiation and clearing the airways. When given with a suitable adjuvant, Gorochanadi gulika can completely cure cough, respiratory tract infections like rhinitis, cold, and breathing difficulties. It also enhances metabolism by kindling the agni inside. It facilitates smooth digestion and absorption by correcting the course and functions of vata in the gut and reinstating associated enzymatic activities. With its anti-inflammatory action, pravala bhasma tones down the soreness and sensitivity of bodily systems. Camphor and dronapushpi clear kapha from the site of aggravation and restore its functions. Chiravilwa aids in digestion, absorption, and assimilation of food. Sitaram’s Gorochanadi gulika is a combination of organic herbal and mineral ingredients in the form of swallowable pills.
