EVERY child wants a secret den or hiding spot in their house.
This savvy couple made their kid’s dreams a reality with this amazing DIY transformation.
When Felicity, 31, and her husband Daniel, 38, moved house in 2019, they decided it was time to take their DIY up a notch.
Luckily, they had all the experience they’d need since Daniel had worked in rental property and Felicity’s dad was an architect.
“Since we’ve moved in, our projects have included extending downstairs, allowing for a utility room, playroom, coat store and WC,” she shared.
But that’s not all, the duo have also gotten crafty with their DIY skills in their daughter’s bedroom.
They created a bookshelf that hides an entire room behind it.
“The handle is disguised by a book so our daughters love having something magic but it’s also practical as it hides all the playroom clutter and toys.
“It only cost £200 to create the door,” the couple say.
They created the magical room for their two daughter’s, aged two and five, to have something fun and unexpected.
But that’s not all they added to their home in a bid to wow the young girls.
“I hand painted the scallop walls in the playroom and the house chalkboard which we have added a wooden trim.
The duo add a chic swinging chair to the playroom aswell.
Felicity said that her favourite thing about DIY is seeing how it all turns out.
“It’s definitely all in trusting the process and when a whole room comes together it’s a great feeling,” she said.
“We love seeing our daughter’s reactions to the end result too.”
